pretty fascinating place—while they use CNC now and make a bat in about 40 seconds, they had a demonstrator doing it on an old lathe the old fashioned way, took about 30 minutes. Unfortunately she had just finished when I walked up, so we talked a bit and she went on break:

I'd like to get about a half dozen of their bat blanks.
 
Factory reject hard maple bat blanks are one of my fav's for turning. There's a vendor on eBay that sells boatloads of these and smaller dowel blanks in maple, birch and other woods. Straight grain, no knots, and very white. Message me for a link...or I could post it here if okayed by a moderator.

These are 3" x 36" and have some figure. Think I paid around $25 a piece.
