This forum is quickly losing value. Very few of the posts have anything to do with woodturning. There are way too many posts by a vocal minority of AAW members about the AAW board of directors, proxie fights, Mary Lacer, etc. Folks it's time to let it go. Move on. Get back in the shop/studio and do some woodturning. - John

Why are you reading those? Simply ignore them and read the main forum messages. Even better than that, ask a question. There's no better way to get things about woodturning rolling on this forum than asking a simple question.

John, maybe I am missing something, but from what I can see, the forum here has been pretty active with postings about woodturning. All the stuff you claim to not want to see was moved a while ago. Maybe you should have shown up a week or so ago and titled your thread "The Closer". That seems to be your thing.

Why would you want to turn wood when you can spend 24hrs a day typing about the BOD? That's where the actions at. Hate and Discontent I love it, my fingers are burning up. Oh wait that's the sand paper getting to hot, hmm the smell of burning pork.😱

My Error

I have been using the "New Posts" feature of this forum for many months. It's a great way to focus on what's new in the forum. Problem is that I failed to notice that most of the new posts these days are in the AAW Information forum - not the Main Forum where the good stuff about woodturning is usually posted. My error.

I don't have any interest at all in following all the new posts about AAW board of directors, proxie fights, etc. that show up in the AAW Information forum.

Is there any way to find only new posts in the Main Forum where the woodturning discussions take place?

John Lucas - I am not reading them. Problem is that when "New Posts" feature of the forum is used the good stuff on woodturning in the Main Forum is lost in the clutter of posts about AAW board of directors, proxie fights, etc. in the AAW Information forum. What I really would like to do is retrieve new posts from only the Main Forum.

Filtering

Patient: "Doctor, it hurts when I do this."
Doctor: "Well, then, don't do that."

Depending on the version of VBulletin, New Posts may not include messages you've just posted. To pick those up, use Quick Links and select "Today's Posts."

The way I filter the posts is to note the date when "You last visited" in the Log In field. Then scan the Last Post dates in the Main Category, and select only the sub-forums of interest. There are only 7, and their Last Posts are all visible on one screen.
