I just turned a natural edge bowl from Cork Oak that a club member brought back from California.
Anyone know where I can purchase Cork Oak logs or half logs?

Probably cork oak is harvested only when a tree dies. Most cork oak comes from Portugal. In the 1940's cork oak was grafted onto California black oak as a source for cork, due to shortages caused by the war. Possibly it is these grafted trees that have been harvested to produce the cork oak that you got.

Maybe a California reader would know of a source.
