I am obviously logged in. But when I attempt to reply in a specific thread, I am not logged in and can not reply. What am I missing?

wherever something strange happens with me and a computer, i rebot, cut computer off and start over, sometimes part of a string gets unreadable or corrupted, worth a try 😀

Not banned, at least not yet.

At the moment am leaning toward not going to SWAT this year. The "being there" part is great, but I hate the "going there" part, and could get some nice lumber for segmenting with that same $$. Still have a little time to change my mind though.

How often does this happen? The software (VBulletin) may do an automatic logout after an hour or so of inactivity, but on another forum using VB, it only seems to reset the "You last visited" setting, IIRC. I think. YMMV.

Every 10-14 days the system does not log me in automatically, and asks for name and password, which I enter. The system thanks me for logging in, but when it redirects to the main forum it shows that I am not logged in, even though I just logged in. I think at this point if I do "refresh" it will show me logged in. Will try to remember the sequence of events next time it happens.

I never stay connected to any site when I am not doing anything there. But wait. If I leave the site without logging out, does the system think I am still there for 150 minutes? If so, then am I clogging up space that someone else could be using, or slowing down the forum?

I occasionally see the top issue, but don't have a fix for it. To answer the last part, the system thinks you are there in the sense that it will show you on-line for up to that amount of time inactive.

Aha! Just did it again, but when I did "refresh", it showed me logged in. Problem solved maybe.

Steve, Thanks for your reply. As long as I'm not slowing down the forum by leaving without logging out, will continue to do it that way.

No worries there Richard, if one person was affecting the forum at all nobody would be able to access it, given the amount of folks logged in at any given moment.

Login problems can sometimes be solved by deleting the browser cookies for a particular site and starting over with a fresh new login.

I don't know if I am an exception or not but I haven't had to log in for weeks. I normally visit the forums at least once a day but sometimes there is a spell of more than 24 hours and still I can come back without logging in.

I think that you are probably looking at a stale cached page on your computer rather than reloading from the server. If that is the case, then you might consider configuring your browser to not cache pages.

That has no effect on accessing pages on the forum.
