The weather is beautiful with bright blue skies and temperatures in the mid sixties. All of the fruit trees are in full bloom, the oak trees are greening up, birds are singing, I have an ample supply of turning stock, and . . . . . . oh yes, I got my copy of American Woodturner today.

Now that's a good way to spell Relaxation!

Spring has sprung in Texas. The tree trimmers are also out. Today I drove by a freshly cut woodpile but didn't stop. It was tough. And tomorrow I have to drive by it again on the way to work.

Not stopping for wood?????

Jeff-how can you not do that???? I have tarps in both cars with the rear seats folded forward-just in case, 😀 Gretch

Dibs on his stash!!!!!

If he's passin' by woodpiles, the stock shelves must be full of primo.

Of course, I'm about in the same fix. Gotta figure out where I'm gonna put the walnut tree that's coming in this weekend.

There's no rest for the wicked! I have set a primary objective this year to finish some of the 400 roughouts that occupy about 1/2 the cubic volume of my garage. They are stacked everywhere! It was getting hard to walk in there.

This also means I'll finally have to setup a photo booth in the study to take pics of finished pieces.

I did make a driveby past the fresh woodpile this morning....LiveOak. My least favorite. It was tempting to pick up a few pieces for boxes, etc, but I staunchly stayed the course and didn't get it (YET). It will be calling out its siren song as I try to drive past it on the way home. Is there any hope of avoiding it?

Woooooood!!!!

Jeff.....if you would get off the Internet and quit your redneck job, you might find time to enjoy the more important things!!!Get those blanks turned and out of your way, or ship them to me!! I have a new pickup, 10 acres, am retired, so there!!!!! PEE ESS...you can send the woodpile that is tempting you also!!!

Jeff,

If you wait long enough, it will spalt, and then it will be really pretty... 😀

As for the nice weather....

AAAACHHOOO! 😱

Let's hear it for allergy sufferers. Anyone for two feet of snow? Bring it on....

Those 10 acres sound real attractive. And it's a darned shame that these day jobs keep getting in the way of us having real fun!

Actually I've been spending some evenings doing some finish woodturning (vs. roughout woodturning). I plan to submit an non-eligible entry into the bowl contest just for fun.
