I have a Delta 46-541. I love this machine, but for some reason it has developed a noise from the motor compartment. When I loosen the motor adjustment screw (a wing nut) an turn the machine on--it stops. I have tried to adjust the motor by loosening and tightening the belt, but when I tighten the wing nut--vibrating sound. It does not matter what the speed is and if I put pressure on the motor mount it stops.

Any suggestions? The machine has a reeves drive--if that matters. It is also sitting on a concrete floor--if that matters.

I think I found the problem. The machine is level, but all four pads are not touching the floor. I shimmed the pads to make it level and touching the floor and the noise stopped.

Thanks.
