Larger Cole Jaws for Nova Chucks?

I'm searching for a larger set of cole jaws for the Nova line of chucks than Teknatool currently produces, and was wondering if anyone knew of a 3rd party who makes these. I've made several sets of MDF chucks, but have always been happier with the convenience of the cole jaws (at least for smaller bowls that fit within the Nova sets...).

I've got several Nova chucks (including a Titan which I would use for the larger jaws), and am not wanting to have to go the route of getting a Vicmarc chuck which seems to have almost no limit in the size of the cole jaws available.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Andy

Mike and Walt,

Thanks for the comments. I'm still not ready to drop the several hundred dollars for the Vicmarc chuck and their cole jaws, although it does look really nice.

After looking at the Chick and Duck Mfg website, I may feel inspired to try making a Longworth chuck out of something like Corian or phenolic. Another option might be to simply take my existing Teknatool cole jaw set, make a print of it with extending the size, and have a new set machined. I could probably get a set machined in the hundred dollar range, then buy the Vicmarc "bumpers" for it.

Thanks again,
Andy

I've seen Longworth done in 6 and 8 pin, much like the Chick and Duck. That would be my choice

Here are some that I've made:

The Router Compass, if not linked in one of those, is here:

That forum may, or may not, have image access limited to registered members (same as here).

The Chick & Duck tool was developed without knowledge of Longworth, and IMHO, the Longworth design is better.

For any such chucks, as well as Cole Jaws, the bowl should be secured to the chuck by duct tape or strapping tape for insurance. DAMHIKT.
