Good morning wood turners. I joined AAW a month ago and this is my first post. I retired last year and joined the Honolulu Woodturners Club. I was fortunate enough to be mentored by David Chung. He gave me a good start. David wisely helped me with the fundamentals, but believed the best way to learn is by doing. You all know it takes years to develop the skills and I have learned that progress toward perfection can be made everyday. I look forward to sharing ideas with you on these forums. Kit

Yes, I was very fortunate. I'm not sure if the sad news has come your way, but David passed away last week. It was very sudden. We are all in the mourning. He was a great guy, very skilled and always available to share his expertise. KB

Welcome to the forum and AAW. Good move to join the Honolulu club. Nothing like retirement. I retired in 2009. I would have retired earlier if I had the money.

Emiliano Sent me a message when he got home from Raleigh and then later he posted the news HERE.

If you haven't met Emiliano yet, you need to go to Maui and drop in on him.

Howdy! (That's Texan for aloha--although some lost in translation)
I learn stuff every time I turn--that's one reason I like it so much. Started out self taught, but have benefitted greatly from our club in Victoria Texas---always surprised what some of the members can do and share.
