Welcome to the forum! Our AAW magazine had a good article about the industry at Sheffield, England.
 
Welcome. According to Bill Bryson, England is a "Small Island". However, I have a son who lives there in a large city, and when I visited, I noticed England has some really different regions. Where do you live and play on the lathe?

Hi Tom. I live in a little village called Bromham in Wiltshire. Sort of South West UK. I am celtic by both birth (Cornwall) and Welsh by heritage though. UK is very much lot of little areas that afre quite different as you say.
 
Reading the latest posts reminded me that I lived on an island- Long Island, NY. I have a good friend who is from the Midlands as he described it. England has a variety of regions that differ from one place to another. Tennessee is like that- the state had three distinct regions from east to west.
 
If you agree that Tennessee has 3 regions look at Virginia's different geo regions and then differiant between northern va and sw vs to say nothing of eastern shore vs Norfolk area......crazy.
