Based on discussion here, I'm getting a 1750 rpm grinder for my CBN wheel. I've been using a Jet wet grinder and am trying to think of any reason to keep it once I have the new grinder. Seems to make more sense to sell it but does anyone think that there may be some application for it with respect to turning tools.

Anybody have any thoughts? Thanks for your input.

Do you sharpen anything else (knives, scissors, hand chisels, carving tools, etc.)? The CBN would be too aggressive for these other tools and hand sharpening would be slow. You may not be doing any carving on your turnings yet, but it is very likely that you will some day.

Thanks Bill. Cooler heads prevail. It's a keeper. 🙂

I use my Tormek for my kitchen knives. I probably should touch up my carving chisels some time...

I bet I wouldn't know how to act with a sharp chisel. Probably hurt myself.

Kitchen knives on the other hand, I hand sharpen (or have). Razor sharp, but then I spent far too many years in the food business (40+) and you just don't use a dull knife. So the Jet stays. Thanks Bill, Robo Hippy.🙂
