I'd like to match the Powermatic "Gold" color

Is there a paint company that has a color that is close to the famous Powermatic gold color to match my 3520a?

I'd like to get some in spray cans without the expense of a special color match.

Thanks,

Clem

I called Powermatic

You can order it directly from Powermatic.

Bill,

I did call Powermatic today and they are sure proud of their paint. A 12 oz spray can costs $14.20 and shipping is $5.85.

I'm checking out some less expensive alternatives. I'll be painting some shop made accessories so I won't be painting directly to an already painted surface.

Some good paint stores (not big-box stores) brag that they can computer match any color. It might be worth a try.

I think you would probably come closer by going to an auto paint supplier. Matching that metallic gold color in a place that makes house paint would be tough.

At that price direct from Powermatic it would be as cheap to by a quart of auto paint and a cheap detail spray gun if you already have a compressor. Heck, if you had to buy many cans of it you could even come out money ahead buying a small compressor also.

One last thought would be to find a small auto body shop, take your stuff there ready to paint, and let them do it. It may be cheaper than you think, maybe work out a deal to swap a turned bowl or something for a paint job.

I'll check today

I already have a touch-up gun and compressor (as well as an air brush) so doing as you (and others) have suggested is the way I'll go.

Clem,

Please let us know how you make out; there are lots of us PM folks out there.

I think if I were going to spend money on paint, I'd change the color. I'm sure PM is a great tool (I wish I had one) but dang if I like that color. Ewww. 😛

I'd rather have their old green.... 😎
