.....But, I will be out in the shop, making the chips fly with my radio tuned in...........😀

(I do not have TV reception.....a choice!)

Who are you rooting for?

Me......I've been pulling for Peyton Manning for years. Even though I really like the Saints, I'm someone who is loyal to my favorite sports heroes. Go Colts!

I was up till past 4am last night playing around with my new "spin doctor" steady rest by Keith Clark. (Page 71 of the February 2010 AAW American Woodturner magazine) So far, I'm finding a great deal of satisfaction owning this fine piece of specialized lathe equipment. After using the Spin Doctor for two thin wall bowls, I've decided it does reduce vibration better than the Oneway Bowl Steady.........:cool2:

Money well spent!

Hoooah!

Hey, Odie. I'm with you, you want Peyton to win, but the Saints are due. Thanks for the tip on the Clark steady rest. I looked it up and like the design. What do you think the difference is between this one and the Oneway?

The one major difference between the Keith Clark steady rest, and the Oneway bowl steady is......of course.....you can position the wheels around the circumference, rather than at two points with fixed spacing.

I ordered mine with five wheels, and nine locations. Currently, I'm experimenting with locations and using 3, 4, 5 wheels spaced strategically. Really can't say what's best right now, as I'm still testing for the best methods which has promise to work for me, and my style of turning.

Hang on.......sooner or later, I'll come up with photos and a more critical review, but at this point, I'm just learning what works, and what doesn't! 😱

The Clark Steady rest is a great unit. I have the big one on my 2436 and it really holds the vibrations down. It's a monster to lift up being able to hold about a 20" round piece.

I'm pretty impressed with Keith's deep hollowing system as well. Well made and can go fairly deep. I've been able to hit 15" no problem. My goal is 24" deep. Just waiting for the right wet log.

Sorry the colts lost; but what a game.

I agree.....built like a tank!.....and, that's exactly what you need to stop the vibrations.

The weight is, as you say.....monster! I've hung mine just behind the lathe, on the wall.......one great big hook into the wall stud, and a piece of rope gets it out of the way. Only have to deal with that weight for a few feet distance. It MUST be convenient to install, or it would be just too easy to talk yourself out of setting it up when you really needed it.

Sorry the colts lost; but what a game.

Yessir....that must have been a good one to watch! I always enjoy a game that could go either way much more than a one-sided match. That interception in the 4th quarter was a heartbreaker for Manning......he can take the blame for it, because his team played good enough to win!

Well I used to root for The New Yankee Workshop & still do because it's on the internet now. Sports is a big waster of time & a huge money thief I stay as far from it as I can. Either be learning how to make something or making something at the end of the time spent you'll either have the knowledge to make something or have the actual item you've made in hand. Watch sports & when your done you'll have nothing & if you went to the game & paid to do so they will have your money & you'll still have nothing. They get the $$$$$$$$$ you get nothing. In a few weeks or months you'll forget the game you saw & then you don't even have the memory. What a waste. This is only my opinion.
