Hello,

I've been turning since about October(?) last year, starting on my father's delta midi lathe. I mostly just messed around and turned a lot of beads on dimensional lumber for fun. In April or May this year I started turning bowls. So far I've turned about 30-40 or so, plus some of my failed attempts (mostly funnels). I've got a plentiful supply of green wood so I've got a lot to practice on haha. I recently upgraded to a nova nebula which has been great. I've also been figuring out the McNaughton center saver system lately which has been a lot of fun.

I'm currently a university student studying mathematics, so I'll have a lot less time come September. For now though, I can spend most of my time turning and doing some self study. I'll be graduating this winter most likely.

I'll be going to the Grand Rapids wood turners guild for this first time next weekend and am very excited. The images I've attached are what I think to be the best turning I've done so far, once turned from a walnut crotch.

Currently, I'm most focused on becoming proficient with the McNaughton and making nested sets.

Welcome aboard, Henry. You are a very brave soul for taking on the McNaughton coring system. It has humbled many experienced woodturners. I have the McNaughton coring system and not ready to concede defeat, at least not publicly.
