After reading many threads on this board, great source of knowledge thanks everyone, I purchased a PM 4224. It now sits in my garage waiting to be used, but there is one problem. The instructions that come with it are to say the least lacking. What the heck is that little electric digital box for underneath the lathe? I can't find anything in the manual on it and it took forever to figure out how to get the darn thing to turn. I'm still not sure what I did to make it start up, but it did. Is there another manual out there that would be of more use or can someone explain how that box works? I did have a good hours worth of fun turning perfectly good wood into shavings and dust.

I called to ask pretty much the same question of PM. They said the reason the is no info is intentional and don't even look at that little box. It may have a reset on the box that finally got it turning. I have a 3520 and that is where my reset is. Congrats on a great lathe,
Jim :cool2:
