Hello all I've been lurking here for a while and decided to join up 🙂
I see some familiar faces on here from other forums.
Im just starting woodturning I have had my lathe for almost a year it's a jet mini I plan to get a bigger lathe as soon as the funds are available.
I have been having fun on my lathe doing pens and some other small work I have really got addicted to bowl turning although I have only done a few I would also like to get into hollow vessels when I get a little better at turning bowls
Here is a bowl I finished tonight its Ambrosia Maple no finish just buffed on the Beall!
Sorry my pics are not verry good I need to set up a photo booth soon!

Jim;
Your bowl looks just fine for a beginner bowl turner. Especially with no finish and just buffed. You obviously have your final turning and sanding under control.
I am a born again turner. (Did a little turning in another life). Then about six months ago I got the mini lathe for pen turning and after doing over 100 pens it got a little boring so I started small bowls and goblets and similar small things. Guess I have out grown the mini lathe now because I just upgraded a couple days ago to a full size 14" lathe. I'm just having a great time with it . Spending lots of time in the shop and still getting behind on orders for fretwork clocks that I make as another hobby.. I'll catch up though..
I too am thinkinking of trying some hollow form turning but not before I have a better grasp on some of the preliminary stuff.
Keep up the good work and dont be afraid to post pictures of things you turn. Some members will be helpfull and we all learn from the helpfull ones.
W.Y.
