harbor freight electric chain saw sharpener

I just bought a new chain saw sharpener from harbor freight, I called to order some same grinding disc for it an they said they didn't carry them any longer. Now I've got a machine that I can't find grinding discs for. If any one know where I can buy them please let me know. the disc are 4 1/4 diameter with a 7/8 arbor an 1/8 face. IF oneone can help it wood be appricated. Thanks TC my email is tcdc5@charter.net

Any good auto parts store or welding supplies will have them I beleive! Thats the size I use in my elect grinder. I just checked and I have 3 of them 4 1/2x1/8x7/8's. Let me know if you have trouble finding them in your area! I'd be happy to send you a couple! I just had Bill G answer one of my threads on another board and he recommended trying that sharpener! How's it working for you?

This is not a trick question, right?

Box it up and send it back to them for a refund.

Either they support their branded products (Chicago Electric, right?) with supplies or give you a US source for them or give you your ****** money back

HF is a pretty good outfit even tho a lot of their stuff is knock-offs; they know better than to do something like this.

Kurt,

Search that part number shows "no info or discontinued". Maybe she talked to the right person but bought the wrong product.

I had one of those. They use two microswitches for on/off on a circuit board. One of the switches or some other part on the thing went bad (after the warranty). The new board was backordered for 6 months and cost about half as much as a whole new unit. I trashed it and got a "real" chain grinder ("Tecomec") from Madsens. Completely different world. I can now precisely vary the pitch and angle of the grind to suit the wood that I'll be cutting.
