I have a bit of applewood about 6-8" diameter. Considering it's instability I would entertain suggestions for treatment and/or projects. I'm not real big on spindle turning. 😕

Bowls are always fun, but if you haven't already, split the logs to get rid of the pith as soon as possible. Another option, if you're into hollowing is to turn a vase with the pith in it. If turned to finish in one step and very thin the vase won't move much.Like this one If you remove the pith by cutting a small hole in the bottom the vase is aloud to shrink without cracking usually 😀 , the hole can be filled in later. Apple usually has that brown stain heart wood with creamy white sap which makes for interesting designs on a vase.

One of my wifes favorite bowls is one I turned out of green apple wood with a bark inclusion. I simply turned and finished it green and let it move as it would. It moved plenty but is an interesting piece.
