Guess I joined the world of serious turners today. I picked up my new 3520A after a month and a half order delay. After getting the several heavy parts off the truck, through a cluttered gararge, and down 7 steps to my basement shop, I sat back and just admired it. What a great tool! Fit and finish are outstanding. The headstock, tail stock, and banjo just glide. Went together like the well engineered product it is. Locks are very positive, accessories are of highest quality. Today I am recovering from all the labor of hauling, check writing and set-up. Tomorrow, I will turn a bit as I cautiously shift my newly gained and developing skills from the mini-lathe to this Powermatic monster. This turning stuff has really "turned" me from flat and square woodwork to round stuff.

First, allow me to clearly establish that,,, YOU SUCK!!! :cool2: Of course I mean that in the nicest, most jealous way possible! 😀

Second, your title says 3520B, in your text you say 3520A. While your level of suckage is equally high in either case, 😛 curious minds especially want to hear of first hand experience with the new B version. Which one did you score?

Best wishes for a long partnership with your yellow monster!

As a member of the ranks who have freshly broken their cheap lathes, I have to totally agree with the previous poster....

It's a 3520B. Guess I was bragging a bit 😀, but really wanted to say to all who saw the message that the Powermatic is the way to go. I have not found anyone, online or in person say otherwise.

Ron Congratulations. I own the 3520A and love it. I've been following the development of the 3520 since it first came out. My friend Charles Alvis had one of the very first one's. There have been some problems but not very many considering how many of those machines are out there. It's also been interesting seeing how Powermatic (and now Jet)has responded to the problems and suggestions by turners. I think they've done an excellent job of listening and it shows off in the changes to the 3520B.
