Wow the goblet competition is heating up. I'm glad to see everyone is getting into the swing of things. Keep them coming. There are some really nice ones.

Super!

John is absolutely right! I have grown tired of "Thinking outside the box." But, I must admit that when I viewed the array of entries, the first thing that came into my mind was exactly that phrase. But somehow it still seems inadequate.

I applaud the skill and ingenuity displayed in these entries.

Better you than me.....

To judge these entries objectively would be a very difficult task. They are all very good on a multitude of different levels. 😀

Well John Lucas,

I must say that your "goblet" is certainly "outside the box." Or is that "inside the bottle?"

It certainly got a chuckle out of me.

There are people out there who think I'm "outside the box". I didn't have any wood that I though would make a good goblet but I had this maple that was intended for a platter but it had started checking from the ends. with carefull cutting and turning I was able to get around that for the inside out bottle.

Would you look at all the great goblets coming in. I love to see more people participating. I hope the next contest draws as many entries.

I too, would like to congradulate all of the contestants. Who would have thought there would be so many variations. I wouldn't want to judge this one either. Seems almost like there should be different classifications, like traditional, out there a little bit and way out there a lot. Can't wait to see the results. My best wishes to the winners whoever they are.

Verification of contest entry

For all contest entrants - please verify that your entry is listed in the contest thread at the top of the forum. Lemme know if there is a typo, or if I missed you. I'll consider the existing list of entries "final" on Wednesday.

We have an impressive 21 entries. What a diverse set of goblets. I've enjoyed looking at all of them so far. And I'm glad I don't have to judge, because I think they all look great!
