There is no need to be in attack mode.

I'm amazed at the nonsense that occurred here and on the other forum over the last few days.

I'm embarrassed for all of you.

I could not agree more!! Bitter and stiffnecked people are a real pain. Unbending and the lack of understanding is a problem everywhere.

Hope we all have a MIRROR.

This forum excels when woodturners (including some of the best in the world) share thoughts, ideas, techniques, etc.

When it turns to gossip and rumor it is not worth reading or participating in. Over the years, I have seen a number of woodworking forums ruined when they got off the main thing.

Since I don't know the facts behind the Rosand decision, I haven't made up my mind about the controversy. But it seems these days from TV to radio to newspapers to this forum, everyone is doing the same thing -- offering opinions on subjects on which they know nothing (or just enough to be dangerous), and speculating on peoples' motives without a shred of evidence.

The collective sharing of wisdom is a wonderful thing. The collective pooling of ignorance is downright ugly.

No need to be embarrassed for me Ron.

It would perhaps be more useful to promote a consensus about appropriate forum behaviour, and what's in and out of bounds, rather than make general statements. Mods could then delete irrelevant posts or move them to a rant section.

Hey Mate, it wasn't a general statement when this was posted a few weeks ago. The mods did move the irrelevant posts. This one was left behind.

There are rules concerning appropriate forum behavior, check the sticky: "Policy On Uncivil Behavior"

Now, I would prefer to let this drop, so lets forgetaboutit and continue what we do best... Turn

I agree -- plenty has been said and done to people ... but people should look in the mirror then ask if they should make a comment or let it go... a clean and clear conscience is a good thing...
