I am looking to buy a second lathe that is midsized (easier to transport) with a small footprint (don't need long bed). I have so far narrowed it down to the Nova models and possibly a newer model from General International called the 25-300M1. It is a 14" swing, 30" between centers with a swivel head and electronic variable speed drive. I have not been able to find out much about it except for the manufacturer website info and am looking for comments from anyone who may have bought or used one.
My primary lathe is a Vicmarc VL175SH so I do have some quality and performance expectation of my second lathe even though it won't see the same usage.

I can't comment on that specific model.
I acquired a 25-200 Thursday, specifically for demo's. I did a demo Friday and Saturday. I'm very happy with how quiet it ran, the fact I can bring it in as one, two or three pieces makes it very easy to transport. I was impressed with how it performed, the 3/4 hp motor handled 9-11" bowls easily, and the speed adjustment/readout makes it the nicest lathe I've ever had to demonstrate on.
