Gallery?

Some changes are in the works. The photo gallery is a separate piece of software called PhotoPost Pro that is a plug-in to our forum software, vBulletin 4.2.2.

There are problems with the PhotoPost software and it appears that All Enthusiast, Inc., the software developer has flatlined on us. The good news is that the gallery pictures aren't lost. Some different options are being considered as a replacement.

Hello Bill, Odie,

Some news with this trouble today?

Thanks

Norbert

Kruger,

I'll elaborate on what I last posted. The AAW IT person is investigating various photo posting options that are best suited for our needs. PhotoPost was a good fit for our needs, but unfortunately, the company that developed it (All Enthusiast, Inc. which appears to be a one man operation) isn't responding to requests for technical support. If you do a Google search, you can find numerous hits about problems with PhotoPost not functioning correctly with various forum software packages. While a band-aid might enable the software to limp along could be applied to the current problem, it might not stick for more than a few days.

The latest update that I have received is that they're still looking at several potential forum/photo options and ensuring that we will get one that is as good or [preferably] better than what we had. Phil McDonald has made it clear that a high quality photo gallery is of utmost importance. Any potential solution will first need to be thoroughly tested before it goes live. Therefore, just based strictly on my own gut feeling from 47 years of writing computer programs, I wouldn't expect to see the new updated forum/photo gallery for at least several weeks. Like everything else, there are fast solutions and there are great solutions, but there aren't any great and fast solutions.
