hey kids have y’all seen the new and recent issues of Woodturning FUNdamentals? It’s been a year and four issues since I got on board to relieve hardworking Linda and free her up for member services. We’ve been trying new things and the feedback has been positive, love to hear from you Forum dudes. How are we doing? Got ideas for future coverage? Post ‘em here, or drop me a note... editorkelsey@Woodturner.org.

Will check it out. Thanks for the info and thanks for your service for AAW!
John, I was curious and decided to look at the Woodturning FUNdamentals. Went through it at a dog trot, glancing at a couple of issues. Got it on my list to review the material. Again, thanks to you and all who contributed.

This issue is very well done, I like the content. Definitely to download and keep.

Suggestions for future articles:
  • Type of cuts (pull, push, shear, finishing, inside, outside, etc.), advantage disadvantage
  • Rechucking and finishing bottoms
  • Design elements for bowls, hollow forms, rims, bottoms etc. and maybe how to cut them
  • Maybe tool rack ideas, there is a nice thread about it here

Thank you for your hard work. Another great edition of Fundamentals!!

I been kindna self tough on sharpening ---- this issue helps a lot especially with the angles. Great for beginners like me. Keep it up I like the detail and a lot of pics very good job. THANKS

Still looking over this issue (Nov 2018) ----- gonna try hollowing. Never did it before. Also the breakdown on the turning tools was great and very detailed. Still learning what all these tools are for and how to use them. I'm a beginner turner and self tough. When I log in (AAW) the place I visit regularly is Woodturning Fundamentals and the AAW videos. THANKS ---- you're doing an excellent job with Woodturning Fundamentals.

just want to add --- your introduction at top (hey kids) ------> hey KIDS <--- I think you can do better than that.

I personally don't mind if someone calls me a kid! LOL

Yes I thought this was a fantastic issue (and not because I was in it) John put together a lot of great information in a well organized format. I don't mind being called a Kid even though I might be older than he is. :)

Just read most of the current issue of FUNdamentals. I thought it was great! While there was a lot of information inside that I already knew it was a good reference for beginners and even for people like myself who have been turning for a couple of years and have learned quite a bit on my own and from a couple of classes (still a beginner though). It was just good information. I especially liked the article on sanding as it gave basics in a clear, succinct manner that was easy to understand and very useful to me.
