I'm enjoying the Feb edition of the AW Journal. Especially since I'm in it! This is a first for me. My Cigar Illusion pens are on pgs 58 & 59 in the members gallery. I'm also enjoying the other articles and member entries.
I'm looking forward to the Symposium in San Jose this year. Another first for me.
Can anyone provide me with a link or info on exhibiting pieces at the Symposium works?

Martin

Special Exhibitions, Presentations and Auctions

A Walk in the Woods: This exhibit’s goal is to honor California’s many majestic forests. Entries will be accepted online November 1, 2011, through February 12, 2012.

Instant Gallery

The Instant Gallery is the largest display of turned-wood objects shown under one roof. It is an amazing showcase of interesting and varied work.
If you are registered for the Symposium, you can bring three of your best pieces to add to the excitement. (Demonstrators may submit 6 pieces.) While there, vote for your favorite chapter-challenge project!
Those artists who submit pieces to the Instant Gallery have the option to sell their work while it is on display.

Chapter Collaborative Challenge

See page 13 of the October American Woodturner Journal for rules and other information on the 2012 Chapter Collaborative Challenge.
Also see pages 10-13 of this same issue for an excellent article on how to organize a successful chapter collaboration project.

Return to the Community Charity Donations

AAW's Return to the Community Exhibition is Empty Bowls, a Grassroots Movement to Help End Hunger. The goal of Empty Bowls is to raise money to help fight hunger and raise awareness about the issue of hunger and food security.

This is what I was referring to. Thanks Charlie. I imagine it's a simple form to fill out once we get there? I am so looking forward to it.

last year you registered your pieces online, then checked them in when you got their, that was at st. paul

they have not posted directions so far this year that i have seen

enjoy, make plans for what rotations you want to see, remember you can not see everything, so enjoy what you can see, it really is amazing, sometime during the 1st day just sit for 15-20 minutes to catch your breath, make sure you save some time for instant gallery viewing (1 hour) is not enough and the vendor area

nice lathe for pens, btw
