I provide this snapshot for all of you outdoor turners who are being bothered by hot weather.

I turned on the heat in the shop this morning and turned 4 small aspen bowls. Then, when it had warmed up after lunch, I drove up into the hills and saw this.

Our fall colors, if we're lucky, are yellow and green. Some years, the main fall color is white. Around here, everyone knows to buy their Halloween costume over-sized, so it will fit over a parka.

Hopefully, everybody is living where the climate best suits them. I know I am.

Dean,
Went fishing the other day. Attached is the result. Caught 6 and released them. I grew up in Minnesota and did a lot of snowshoeing and cross country skiing. Traded the snow blower for sun screen.

Panning for Montana gold, with Betsy, the mule!
I turned on the heat in the shop this morning

Been turnin' on the heat in the mornings for the past week, or so.......summer is gonzo! :D

This is actually my favorite time of the year in the shop......July is too hot, and January is too cold around here! o_O

I quit hunting about a dozen years ago.....so, I don't have any nice trophies to show you.......I am now a full-time prisoner of my shop, by my own making! ;)

It has been white here a couple of times already in the last couple of weeks, and yes the heat is on to take the chill off, in the house and the shop, feels good in there rather than outside, just 3 Degrees ( 38 for you guys down south) going below freezing tonight.
Fall colors are still around but not for long, the leaves are falling already.
Keep warm :)

Sweltering hot and humid here. The garage air conditioner went out a couple weeks ago which made it really miserable to be in the garage. I finally got the new air conditioner installed this evening ... what a miserable hot job. And, then it rained.

But, it's nice and cool now.

its warming up with the coming summer, day light saving, BBQ's and long afternoons on the lathe
I’m continually amazed that you guys do not fall off the earth down there?? :)

One if our great technological challenges was arranging a conference call with members of the PoP in austrailia and Arizona. We needed to figure out what day it was in Australia and whether Arizona was on mountain time or pacific time.

Enjoying the photos of the places with too much latitude.

Central Florida fall colors are abundant in patches but not so much in the tree foliage.

Saw all the fall colors below mowing the grass. With the exception of the zinnias all are native plants.

This Wildflower, the Narrow leaf sunflower aka swamp daisy blooms in September. Just beginning to fade
This patch makes a wall of color over 10 feet high.

Zinnia patch planted in late August has about 20 species of butterfly’s visit each day

Next are String Lilly a wetland wildflower, and woodland shrubs fire bush and beauty berrywith the fruit the birds have not taken yet.
These bloom most of the year but have peak performances in the fall because the plants are larger.

In November we get the the purple flowers of the Elliot’s aster and the yellow masses of the Marsh marigold
