I donated a nice Koa shallow bowl today. The lady called me back, and said my donation last year went for $400 and helped them a lot. This one is K-9 Kokua Rescue, they are sort of a non kill dog rescue place. Feels good to be able to help... So far this year its my third donation. Friends of the NRA, and a school asked for help and gave them some pieces... I also look at it as Marketing and exposure... Who knew my work was going to be good enough that people will bid for it. had you asked me 20 years ago... AlohaIMG_8183.JPG

Congrats on making such nice turnings that are in demand. Good to support the rescue kennel and the NRA. We have two dogs that adopted us. I think they have us trained real well after five years.

Thank you John. I love dogs too, have 4 myself...

I've done a fair amount of work for our local Dog organizations. Donating wood turning doesn't do much around here, they just don't sell for much. I do better doing photography for them or just helping out physically when I can. All of my dogs have been rescue. One of them we called a "Ditch Bitch" We found her abandoned in a ditch and had mange and no hair and gray skin. Looked like ET. About a year later after treatment and care at our home she looked like a pure bred Ikeda. She wasn't because she had a black tongue and Chow's are the only dog with that so we knew she was a mix.

Your current work isn't just good enough, Emiliano.......it's grrrreat! 😀

Two Dachshunds here! 😀

My son and I were at the range on Sunday.......burned off some 9mm reloads, and several hundred 22LR! 😀 (me) 😀 (him)

Neat that your donation helped such a good cause. I had two yorkies until one passed a few months ago, we now just have one that is about 3 years old, and the sweetest pup one could want. I made a donation of a "chip & dip" ambrosia maple bowl to Cornerstone Christian School back a few months ago........it brought upwards of $300 for their school.

The love of my life was an Australian silky terrier... Loosing her was one of the hardest things ever. I still miss her every day...

I made a yearly donation to the PBS TV fundraising auction each year until they quit doing it. They sold for between $100 and $350. each time. Sometimes people will pay more for a good cause. With one exception all my dogs have been rescue. Every one was a wonderful friend and companion: every one eager to please except the hunting dog I paid $1000 for.
