Does your lathe "Dibble"?

Yes,mine once dibbled

Yes, 3 or 4 years ago, a friend asked me to make one for her. Her husband does rather large spindle carved bowls, but doesn't turn. I turned 2 out of Koa for her so that she could have one for "show" and one for "go". Now her husband brings me a lot of his cutoffs that oftentimes are large enough to make a small bowl or hollow form.
Thanks for the memory

fake dibbler

I turned a bunch of dibblers when learning to use the skew. I used the drawing from a magazine article as a pattern. i gave one to about every gardener I knew. At Xmas my mother-in-law proudly brought hers out to show everyone. Of course the first thing out of my brother-in-laws mouth was "does it come with a straps". Never has any turning brought about as much discussion in a family as this one. needless to say I made another one and sent it to my sister-in-law. I have never heard so much laughter.
