Maybe Betty or someone else could explain:

Does the distribution of the AAW Journal follow Membership numbers? For example, the oldest member numbers are shipped before the latter member numbers?

While for almost a month [?] it seems folks have been referring to the latest Journal, and I have not received mine yet............just wondering how the distribution works.

No, the distribution does not follow membership number, rather it gets bulk mailed from the printer in northern Minnesota. So, depending on the region where you live, the weather, the whim of the UPSP, and how much your letter carrier likes or dislikes you, you'll get your journal earlier or later that the rest of the members or within your particular region.

Linda Ferber is the person who handles membership problems and missing journals. Her email is linda@woodturner.org. But Linda always waits about a month after the initial ship date to send first-class replacement journals. I believe that date would be August 19. So you have about a week to wait before sounding the alarm to Linda.

Have you hugged your letter carrier lately? Or check to see if he is a woodturner/non-AAW member? 😱

It's possible that we will be using a different printing facility sometime in the future in order to obtain better mailing rates and quicker delivery.

I get an email letting me know when it's available online. A couple of clicks of the mouse and there it is with no torn pages or mailman fingerprints. If an article is too small a click and it's enlarged. Now if there was just someway to download it to a Kindle or Rook.

Stuart, that's in the plans, sometime for the future. Cannot promise that option just yet, though. But with what's online now, we've started down the path of having an electronic version available, as you suggest. Have to give credit to Jean LeGwin, though. She's been the vision and hard work behind having electronic journals available.
