I'm not sure I missed a call for demo assistants or not, but I've been keeping an eye out for the request for meeting participants to help-out in Hartford. In past years, we've already had the request sent out by this time and have responded if one wanted to help at the Symposium by being a demo assistant for one or more demonstrators.

Did I miss the call for demo assistants or are we not there yet?? It seems to be getting pretty close to the event's starting date (...only 5 weeks away!), and as far as I know, no general call for help has been put out to those attending the Symposium. I have been helping in this capacity each year for the past 4 symposia, and am willing to help again. I would like the opportunity to select which demonstrators I assist for, and which rotations these are....so I can put together my schedule for the meeting so I maximize my learning and see those demonstrators that will help me the most.

Where are we on symposium logistics for demonstrator assistants, videographers, etc. ? ? ?

Time is ticking away......

Rob,

There was a place on the symposium registration form to indicate interest in being a volunteer. I know the staff in St Paul have been collecting that info, but I'm not sure what they are going to do with it. Dale Larson is the chair of the symposium planning committee this year - perhaps he'll chime in on this thread...but your best bet is to get in touch with the St Paul office manager, Linda Ferber.

Volunteers

I got an email recently about the Symposium with a contact to volunteer for Demo Assistant. I also checked the box on my registration. Got 2 replies via email that they will keep me posted as it gets closer. This is my 1st Symposium and I thought it would be a good way to give a little back.

Looking forward to it!

Hi Rob:

The volunteer coordinator has your information and I will follow up to make sure you are called with additional details. I have you listed to help John Hill as well.

We have been searching for volunteers, in all areas if any one else attending the symposium wants to be involved. It is great fun. If you would like to contact me direct my email is linda@woodturner.org

See you soon - I agree the time is flying and we will be Hartford soon.

Direct email request received

Rob - check your email box (whichever one you use for AAW). I received a direct email a few weeks ago asking for volunteers.
