Delta 46-756 remote switch question?

When I tried to figure it out on 755X (same basic lathe) the only way I could see was to series a switch to the red power on/off switch and I did not like having to run 2 switches in line with a 30 amp fuse if one shorts or grounds to the lathe also something else to refuse to make up electrically and cause down time. Hot would have to run from plug to say auxiliary switch and then hot would go through that switch and to the normal big red on/off switch - both have to be on to work.. Let me know if you come up with another way to tie into the controller, never figured it out myself.

A remote would have to be in series with the existing switch as Wilford said. Doing that is not really a big deal. The concern that Wilford expressed about a power switch experiencing a short condition is actually safer with two switches in series than with a single switch.

Most VFD's have logic inputs for START-STOP-JOG operation, but you would need to find the VFD instruction manual to determine if that is the case for the one on this lathe.
