Delta 46-455 HELP...

I got a +/- 3 month old Deltal 46-455 5-speed midi lathe. In trying to change the speed to the middle pulley step, I could not get the belt tensioning lever to release the belt tension. This is the first time this has happened to me. I thought maybe that some sawdust got in the works, so I vacuumed it in every nook and cranny I could get the nozzle. This was the solution. Does anyone have any advice for me? I am going to post this on several forums to see if I can get a quick answer. Thanks in advance for your help.

I've had a variable speed version for several years, but never had a problem with the belt tensioning mechanics. If yours is the same, it's just a pull the lever down a bit and move it to the left and up to release tension. If you've got the belt tension set too high by adjusting the motor position, you might have to relax it some.
