I have a 16" Conover Lathe I bought in 1994 from American Woodcraft Tools. It has been in storage for 15 years, while I traveled fulltime in our motor home, built homes for Habitat for Humanity, and built a new home for ourselves. I'm now setting up my workshop again. I'm going to lubricate the head stock spindle and, while the drive belt looks good, I would like to replace that also while I have it apart. It seems parts suppliers for Conover lathes are in short supply. Two questions: 1) Anyone know of a parts supplier out there for my lathe, and 2) would an auto parts supply store be a logical place to get a drive belt for my lathe or is there a better choice? Thanks in advance for your thoughts. :)
