After seeing many excellent "rejects" from the Turning 30 Exhibition l feel very privileged to have my piece "Celebrate" accepted.

This turning is made from Pear, has 30 leaves pierced and textured with an NSK dental tool, and painted with acrylic paints. Technically l feel this is one of the best l have done.

For all you basket illusionists that like to count the squares on their pieces, there are 1000009 little drilled holes to give the effect of a decaying leaves.🙄

appears very thin and consistant......I really like it...thanks for sharing

.... Technically l feel this is one of the best l have done....

It's also artistically excellent as far as I am concerned. The texturing and coloring work really well in bringing this piece to life. And, I think that it very effectively conveys a sense of motion as the falling leaves give the appearance of piling up at the bottom of the piece.

You should have stopped at a million holes. The nine extra little holes is just plain showing off 🙄 Did you doze off at any time while doing the texturing and drill a hole in your lap? I haven't "branded" myself yet with a pyrography pen, but it's just a matter of time.

Your legacy continues to expand with that one, Mike........😀 .....

He hasn't departed us yet. 🙄

I was going to stop at a million but you know how it goes l was having that last inspection and it just needed that last couple of holes here and there. While making this l slipped with the drill and it touched just under my nail then the same with the pyro pen just a 1/16 apart, it irritated me for days.
