Carbide burnisher for scrapers -- needed or not?

Scrapers are coming out of hibernation next week, eager to get going on bowls and perhaps a box. Recognizing the need for a nice burr on the scraper(s), I've also read that using a screwdriver, as in the old days, doesn't really work well on our HSS tools. Looking at the Lee Valley Veritas Scraper Burnisher [click]. Is there an alternative to consider? I have some old saw blades with dull carbide tips.😀😀 I don't mind buying the Veritas though. Current grinding wheels are 60 grit and 120.

Found a thread!

I found a thread here that Odie started, all about the Veritas (had run a search, no successfully, then found it using Google search), so I think I have plenty of good info. ODIE: if you still have yours and want to sell it, LMK.😉
 
I use a burnisher on my cabinet scrapers, but for turning scrapers, I use the burr right off the grinder or bring up a burr with a diamond hone, depending on the situation.
