Hi all

I'm demonstrating at Phoenix on this lathe but need to make a jig to suit, and get it sent over before hand. I need a few measurements to make the jig please:

Gap between bed bars
Thickness of bars
Distance bed to centre

Many thanks

Richard

What do you mean by distance to bed center. Distance from center of spindle to bed center top of the ways (2x this is what we call the swing over here) or distance from one end of the lathe to the other. I have a 3520A which I think has the same measurements but not 100% sure.

Gap is 63mm wide and the ways are 16mm thick. The distance from the center of the drive center to the top of the bed is 20.5CM

My 3520A actually had a 20 1/4 inch swing, not 20 inch. Not sure about the B as I now have a Robust.

.... The distance from the center of the drive center to the top of the bed is 20.5CM

It's more like 25.75 cm. In order to maintain backwards compatibility with earlier versions, the basic dimensions of the 3520 are the same for original and all revisions. The changes are in the details, but not the size.

I have a PM3520b, bought it in Dec.

Bed gap is 2.50"

Thickness of ways .560"

Distance from bed to spindle center 10.250"

Measured with dial caliper.
