they like rocks.......they congregate in gravel driveway only in the sun

I thought the box elder bugs had moved on since last fall when I first saw them......not sure where they went over the winter, but with warmer weather they seem to like the gravel in the driveway......I get my crispy oat cereal at Aldi....good stuff....I was shopping in there and they have a seasonal isle of goods.....I picked up some triazicide insect killer and sprayed it on whole driveway (about 1/2 the price @ l--es) ........about 1/2 hour later no more box elder bugs......did not see any bodies or scalps so they may have headed to florida or Washington......anyway for now they are gone ..... will see come fall

A couple of years ago I found a ball of BE bugs about 8-9 inches in diameter. By the time i got my camera, they had spread quite a bit.. I try to get right after those and stink bugs as they could have annihilated my 17 hills of vine crops 3-4 years ago. Caused 2 hills to wilt and when I picked up the leaves there were 10-20 on each vine. I had seen them previously on end of season squash ( not sure of the diff between sq bugs, stink bugs bx elder bugs in the red stage), leaves so wasn't excited about them and spraying with sq yet to be harvested . Now I get them to prevent infestation the following year. They do overwinter. Now I have very few, Gretch
