[Hi Everybody,
As long as I am swimming in the vortex of turning, I may as well inhale. Need recommendation on a good book or video on segmented turnings. Want to start small, like a segmented rim on the bowls I plan to turn. Thanky, Max 😀 😀

Ron's suggestion to go to Malcom Tibbett's site is a good one. His book "The Art of Segmented Turning" tells you virtually EVERYTHING you wanted to know about segmented turning. Dale Nish's book "Woodturning with Ray Allen" is also excellent and gets into more design information on the detail rings,

Woodturning Online has a whole section on segmented turning, including beginners projects. Here is the link: http://www.woodturningonline.com/Turning/segmented_turning/index.html

I myself am just beginning with segmentations. Good luck.

Max,

I have been looking for Malcom's book too and guess that I will have to buy it online. I have fussed at the folks at the local Rockler and Woodcraft stores for not having it (arrrrghhh . . . . . . the response went something like, "well we have a few other woodturning books -- how about one on turning pens instead). I got all excited at SWAT last year when I saw some of Malcom's incredible stuff. I don't do well with jigsaw puzzles -- I hope that is not a sign that maybe this isn't for me.

Bill
