I was at a used book store recently and got a book on woodturning. The author is Phil Irons. The book seems to cover everything from wood to finishing. Is anyone familiar with Mr. Irons?
 
Yes I bought an adaptor from him many years ago. I've seen his work published in Woodturning magazine, I think. It's been a while. He has a good reputation and does good work from what I remember
 
I had dinner with Phil at the AAW Symposium in Tampa last year. Very nice guy - friendly, good sense of humor, and an interesting woodturning demonstrator. I think I know what book you likely have (I have it too!) and it should provide a lot if information, particularly for the beginner and intermediate turner.

He has been on the woodturning scene for quite some time....

Nice chap, I think originally Australian but has lived in the UK for many many years, still has a bit of Antipodean twang to his accent though! Big chap (must be 6ft 6 at least!- at 6ft I don't look up to many people!) with a larger than life character. He used to be the Vicmarc stockist here in the UK but no longer.

A good book for learning woodturning, it has split pages for technique and designs.

Thanks to all. I felt that someone should have some information about Mr. Irons. The book is The Woodturning Bible. I'm retired so it is my latest "lunch library reading."

That's not the one that I have. Mine is "Woodturning - Two Books in One". Does that count as having one or two of his books? 😉
