Big Wooden Balls

Add some flannel, a raspy voice, and lots of duct tape, and you have Red Green on steroids. Really cool mega lathe. I'd have liked to have seen a close-up of the cutter and the mechanical system that he uses to position and drive it. Might have smaller scale applications to normal-scale woodturning....(...all he would need is an indexing wheel for some repeatable positioning, and he could also add 'ornamental turning' to his resume!).

Awesome!

Interesting video! My questions: Who buys something like that? Where would you put it? What do they cost?
I get excited over doing a reel seat insert- about 4-1/8 X 1.

Rob I rigged up something similar once with a dremel, steel cutter and a homemade ball turning rig similar to what Mark StLeger used to demo. I'm guessing that's not radically different from his truck.
