Ray, many years ago I was a candle maker. I had a rep at the Denver Merchandise Mart. He did very well for me. I think he got 15% of each sale. Once a year I would go and represent myself at a major show in his showroom. Finding a good rep can be a bunch of footwork. Maybe try to google art and craft reps and see if one seems to handles items that may match the kind of place your work would sell in. A good rep will know when to show your work to a place. In this guys case he handled a lot of different handcrafted items. Low to high end. He pretty much traveled the Rocky Mountain region. But he did keep me busy. And some of the accounts he got for me proved to be very good. Bummers happened also. As a full time turner I have always gotten paid. May take a awhile in some cases. As a candle Manufacturing company I would have to send a collection agency after folks now and again. I would only get 50% of the take. But it was better than zero. My rep still got 15% of that. I had no social life at all. I was in the factory or in my own graft gallery. Got fried and sold the biz and moved to Hawaii. Ten years ago Linda and I were burning the midnight oil in bowl production we were so busy. We had to slow down. Now the economy has slowed me down. But being that busy is not good for my health. If you find a good rep who sends you more than you handle you have to make life choices.

Thanks Kelly for the info... I have found a few places in the area ie the art and natural history museum as well as a few local galleries to take my things. Wholesale and consigned. If Linda starts selling the large pieces I iwll go back to them. In the meantime the pins are keeping me busy enough...Ray
