I'll be forever grateful to the AAW. If it wasn't for the scholarship, I would have never travelled to Tennessee. Truly a life changing experience. Emmet Kane, Arrowmont staff, the studios, everything was simply amazing.
Emmet accomplished his mission with me. He got me out of the utilitarian turning, the simple things... I have new perspective. I got a peek into the life and mind of a world class artist. Everyday we started before class, and we continue talking into the night, studios are open till 1 am, and then cold libations by the fire pit till 2 am... Sad it has come to an end...

Glad you had an opportunity to work with Emmit Kane and experience Arrowmont.

Arrowmont is a great place fo classes. I like the interaction among the different art forms.
Make you think in different ways.

I realize not everyone can go to the craft schools. But try if you can.

Classes at Arrowmont, Campbell, Anderson Ranch, craft supplies ..... can be life changing.

I live about 2 1/2 hours from Arrowmont. I've never taken a class there but did teach a photography class for them once. Classes are a little on the expensive side for my budget. The Appalachian Center for Crafts is an hour from me. It used to be 20 minutes until I moved. It was part of our school and I photographed there lots of times each semester. I started teaching woodturning for them quite a while ago although I have had to reduce that quite a bit in the last few years. John C Campbell is a long 3 hours from me. Love the place but don't get to go there that much. It's like Summer camp for Adults and really lot of fun. When you teach there you get a free class which has allowed me to go and just have fun.
I'm really glad you got to see our wonderful state. I wouldn't move from here for anything but I certainly would like to see your wonderful state. Doubt that will ever happen on my budget but I watch Hawaii 5 0 religiously and drool.

The Spirit of the Arrowmont, the Spirit of the people, the spirit of the students combine to forge art, creativity, lasting relationships, the list goes on...
Arrowmont oozes creativity. It's a whirlwind week that ends too soon. If it sounds like I'm biased, I am, it is my home away from home.
Emiliano, great piece in the gallery, love the story.
