All the talk about the Axminister chuck, I purchased the Apprentice chuck from Craft Supplies. It is definitely made in China but I find it to be a precision item. I like it very much, no complaints. The chuck was highly advertised by Craft supplies when it was introduced. However, a few weeks after I bought the chuck it disappeared from Craft Supplies web site. The only thing on the web site is the Apprentice large 7" jaws for bowl reversal. I sent an e-mail to Craft Supplies but they have not answered my mail. I wondered what happened to the chuck. I am concerned about spare parts. I know of no other place that sold the Apprentice chuck but Craft Supplies. Anyone got any info on the chuck?
