Hi,my name is Orlando and I'm a newbie;
I would like to know if anyone ever heared of a Scruger name brand,I was just offer a Wood Lathe with that Loggo for $250 bucks,is about 5 foot long and 3 speeds.This guy just offered it to me"cause his father is 90 years old and he is been hurting himself trying to do work at the wood shop,any info would be greatly appreciated.Orlando😉

Sorry! The name for the Wood lathe is "Spruger"

Sorry I missed spelled the name for the item. The name for the Lathe is "Spruger"😉Orlando

Like MM said, the head stock maybe bushings not bearings.and for a few more dollars you can pick up a good mini lathe. Some old tools are just that old, some times the newer tools are better.If you do not know a lot about lathes or wood turning look up a local club and visit you can get a lot of good information to keep you from spending money on something that you wish that you didn't after you got it. Just my 2 cents

Sprunger

Sprunger had a reputation for decent equipment. At $250 I think it is at least double what I would pay. With a new motor , pulleys, belts etc. you are looking looking at another $3oo to$5oo, forget it.

Thanks for all your info.
Just picked up a 46-525 Delta Rockwell instead for $600 bucks in mint condition and I'm loving it,thank you again for opening ny eyes,Orlando.😉

Good lathe, and probably an excellent island price. Mainland is in the 350-500 range. I had its cheaper cousin for over 20 years, and it earned its keep as well as allowed me to play.
