speculating

the main airport for St. Paul goes by MSP in airline scheduling lingo

i see on my map there is a St. Paul Downtown Airport with (STP) out beside it. airline scheduling does not reconize STP

it is also designed Holman Field.

can one fly into this downtown airfield, has anyone done it, pros and cons between MSP & STP

is there some kind of air shuttle service from chicago ORD to St. Paul downtown airport STP ?????????

is STP just for private aircraft????

The description is for General Aviation, not commercial, though I'll bet some cargo and charters use the place - "customs available". So If you're set on getting to Holman, suggest you contact a charter operation out of Midway. Don't think much in the way of small charter operates out of O'Hare.

thanks, mm, i am not use to three ? airports like chicago, not use to flying either, not sure if charter or make up charter is worth it, we have a year so looking at possiblities, united looks reasonable to other airport in st paul, but would like to debark only 1 mile from site

Charlie,
Although it's been a long time since I flew into St. Paul, it seems to me that I remember it wasn't very far to get to downtown from the airport.

You may find that the hotel you would like to book has a limo from the airport. Just my opinion, but I think a direct flight, if available, and a limo would come out a whole lot less expensive than a charter flight and still having to deal with some sort of ground transportation.

Unless of course you are looking for some variety...😀

thanks Kurt, most of the flights would go to either chicago or dallas-ft worth from greensboro and then take another flight to st paul, but not the downtown airport

i will try to see if i can get a direct flight with no stops

i was hoping to find an off brand airline connecting to the st paul downtown airport

i do not have much experience making flight connections and am in what if stage

😱 once upon a time, my first flight many years ago, but ive flown about 3 times, so anyway, i got a flight, the plane landed, i got off, nobody there to meet me, i ask question, found out i was on a one stop flight, got back on plane , flew to destination 😀 it could have been a diaster, but turned out ok 😀

a direct flight with no stops is likely to have less problems 😀

if i fly out of raleigh instead of greensboro i can get direct flight, better check roanoke too
