Advice needed from PM3520 owners

I can't get used to the rest that came with my PM3520a. It holds the chisel too far from the work due to the width of the rest and the angle at which it addresses the wood. It is especially hard to use a skew with this rest due to the leverage issue the rest causes.

Therefore, I plan to use the one that came with the lathe for a doorstop, boat anchor, etc. What I need advice on is what kind of after market rest works well with the PM3520a?

Thanks for the input, Larry

Larry - The best tool rest is the one you are most comfortable with for the project at hand. There are times when I use the stock PM3520 toolrest and it works great for that application. There are other times when it doesn't work very well. I tried some aftermarket rests but was not happy with them. So I made my own.

The info is posted
in the tips section here
It took some time to make the toolrests but now I have exactly what suits my turning needs.

I Do mostly Bowls and just started doing Hollow forms on my 3520. I Used the stock rest for 2 weeks and didnt like it for bowl work so I made my own
