Hi folks,

This is my first post on this forum. I would just like to say I had such a great time at the Hartford symposium. I could not have been made feel more welcome by the people who attended and also the committee did everything possible to meet my needs as a demonstrator.
The instant gallery opened my eyes to what can be achieved on the lathe and I have returned bursting with inspiration.
I have made many new friends and had a chance to catch up with old ones.
Thank you to all who made this a wonderful experience for me.

kind Regards,
Glenn Lucas

Glenn I really wanted to meet you but spent the weekend running in circles. I did hear lots of people talking about your demo and how impressed they were with your techniques. Congratulations. Glad you had fun. Maybe someday we'll meet.

Glenn:

I managed to catch the very end of one of your demos and I really liked what I saw and heard! I wish I could have met you in person, but really appreciate the new perspective of scale that I got from hearing you regarding your woodturning endeavours. I hope you will be able to participate in future Symposia, which might enable us to talk about turning over a pint. Amazing photos and stories I'll try to do justice relating these to the guys in my club who weren't able to attend!!

Cheers,

Rob Wallace

Thanks for your reply guys. I will be back in the USA next year teaching at Arrowmount and I also will be doing a demo for the North Carolina woodturners. It is around the time of the 25th symposium so I will try and hang on for it.

The demonstration circuit is new to me even though I have been turning for 20 years. The positive response in Hartford has been very encouraging for me.

Best wishes,
Glenn

Welcome, welcome!

Hi Glenn!
I really enjoyed seeing your demo on production turning... I've already found some ways that I can make my own processes more efficient.

It was absolutely lovely talking with you on Sunday! I'm so glad that you came over to share your talents with us. I hope you'll be able to make it to Utah next year as well.

Katherine

Hi Katherine,

I really enjoyed meeting you also. I hope I get to make it to Utah but I am not sure as I have a June visit to the States. I now have a lot of friends who attend the Utah symposium.
I am glad you got some tips from my demo.

all the best,
Glenn🙂

Glenn and his demo

Glenn, we enjoyed our conversation on the shuttle Monday afternoon. I do have one objection, however, to your presentation in Hartford that I observed: How can I possibly relate your amazing talent to my club members back home here without sounding like I'm exaggerating?! ;-)

As others have said, thank you for your time and effort in helping make the Hartford Symposium memorable. I look forward to the privilege of seeing you demonstrate again soon.

John,

Thank you so much for taking the time to write your comments. I am looking forward to my next trip to the USA. I have spent many years just working on my own without an audience, it really is encouraging to get positive feed back from my presentations.

regards,
Glenn

Thank You !

I'm glad you enjoyed the event-so did I. It was also my first Symposium. I wish I had time to see your demos. It's impossible to see everything you want. It sounds like others were very pleased by your efforts. I look forward to meeting you someday.

Best Regards,

Don
