Hi, Brent from Robust Tools here. Most years I help Andi Sullivan, a blind turner, do a panel presentation at the AAW symposium about those turning with physical challenges. This might include someone who is blind, like Andi, turns from a seated position, or has some other physical limitation that they've adapted to. We'd like to freshen up this panel with some new faces. Does any of this fit you, and are you going to the symposium this year? The time commitment is minimal, we just ask that you're able to tell your story in a concise fashion and respond to questions from the audience. Well shoot! I am legally blind - less than 12% center vision (tunnel vision) in left eye and right eye I only see light/dark and distorted shapes & shadows. But it's not in my budget to be able to attend. Otherwise, I would be interested.
I wish i was going to the symposium. I'm a new turner confined to a wheelchair and would love to participate, if not attend to see a presentation like this. Maybe in the near future. Good luck finding participants as I think this is something very important topic.

Good to know, I'll keep my eyes open. I currently have the free affiliate membership. I went in to buy/pay for a yearly membership, no joy. I guess I have to wait until my affiliate is up in two months.

Nah, you'd need to email the AAW member support person (not the forum support) and get that set up - I had the exact same problem when I signed up first with the free membership, then wanted to upgrade, I had to do that by email with the support person (probably not the same one today as I dealt with then, so I don't know who to refer you to, but it should be right in there in the membership site once logged in)
Look into Perry Shaw. He is active on Instagram and does excellent work. He has posted about a recent issue where he can only turn with one arm
