I upgraded lathes early this year and need to clear out some old accessories. Everything is for 1”-8tpi spindles unless otherwise stated. If any of the prices seem unreasonable, just send me a DM with an offer. I’m just trying to clear out some space and replenish my tool fund a bit.

  • 5 1”x8tpi faceplates. 1 Easy Wood Tools aluminum faceplate (2"), 1 labeled BMWOOD (6"), 3 unbranded (two 4" and one 6"). A couple of the faceplates had surface rust from wet wood shavings; I cleaned them up but some stains remain as shown in the picture. $60 shipped in CONUS. (PENDING)
  • Best Wood Tools 1-8tpi 3” spindle extender. Thru hole for vacuum chucking (not big enough for 3/8” tubing though). Light use. I had to wipe off some very light surface rust at one point but I don’t see any significant staining. $55 shipped.
  • 4 50mm Nova faceplate rings. All are lightly used at most, some new in packaging. I have more faceplates now than I know what to do with and prefer faceplates so these are just sitting around. $25/each shipped or $80 for all. (PENDING)
  • 2 Robust SHORT POST toolrests, 6” and 12”. Both have standard 1" posts, but are sized for a 12" lathe. Used for about a year. Functionally perfect but cosmetic scuffing to the black finish as shown in pictures. $50 shipped for the 6” and $65 shipped for the 12”.
  • Right Angle Now Talon rail mount grinder tool rest. Compatible with Oneway Wolverine system. Lightly used. https://www.rightanglenow.com/product-page/talon-200. The system works well, but I prefer the Kodiak rest. $150 shipped.
  • Glaser Hitec 3 in 1 screw chuck, 1"-8tpi. https://glaserhitec.com/product/1-x-8tpi-screw-chuck/. No functional issues, but some scratches and small dings in the aluminum body and ring from bouncing around in my tool cart. $160 shipped.
  • 4” diameter 1”-8tpi Frugal vacuum chuck. I bought this with a Frugal vacuum setup and then bought a bigger lathe. $45 shipped.
  • Nova chuck inserts, 1-8tpi. 3 are IDNS (no reversing set screw) and 1 IXNS (w/ set screw). One is older model but fits current chucks. There are some small rust specs but I’ll clean them up and coat in oil before shipping. $80 shipped for all.
  • 4 Nova woodworm screws. All have little to no use. $55/shipped for them all.

Hello Asher! If they’re still available, I’ll take the five faceplates and the four faceplate rings. Hopefully they can all fit in one box. Our club’s “mobile classroom” setup can use one or two of each of those.
I won’t be able to transfer the money to you until Saturday or Sunday, if that’s ok. I’m out of the country until then.

Let me know if that’s ok. Thanks!

No problem at all, I'm not in a rush. Thanks!

Asher, I received the package yesterday. Thank you. Everything was in order and exactly as shown/quoted. And thank you very much for the two custom-made surprises in the box!

I found a couple more of the woodworm screws, so I'm adding them. Here's what's still available, with lowered prices.

  • 6 Nova woodworm screws. All have little to no use. $60/shipped for them all. Or $15/shipped each.

Just a comment for those with 1-1/4"x8tpi lathes. Best Wood Tools sells an adapter to use things with 1"x8" threads. I've never tried them but everything else I've bought from them has been great.

To add to John's excellent recommendation. The Best Wood adapter is $60 and most likely far superior, but for the budget conscious among us, PSI also carries the adapter for $22.

Best Wood's will be a finely machined part made in USA. PSI's will probably fit and is a Chinese knock off.

I suspect the PSI version is prob OK. I would test it by mounting something like a chuck or mandrel on the lathe and check it with a dial indicator to make sure it runs true, then mount the adapter and something on it and see if it runs true.

I like the Best Wood Tools in general. They are all made by a machinist not far from here. I have the Baxter threading jig, some adapters, and a couple of the carving and finishing posts I use for hand scraping and sanding almost all of my face work. The threading jig is wonderful too, far more sturdy and I think more precise than some of the cheaper options. Since there is just one guy making things, sometimes there is a wait but I think worth it.

FYI, I and some others I know like this far better then the Trent Bosch version, his "Carving Stand". Nothing against Mr Bosch, but I can provide reasons if anyone wants to know why.
The Best Wood Tools stand is also a lot cheaper, especially when it's on sale (like now, apparently)

I agree about Best Wood Tools quality. Spent some time with them at a Symposium booth. Very nice people and great products. Each item is top notch and well made.
