    Bifurcated Hickory Hollow Form

This is the other side of the log from the previous, "Bifurcated Hickory Vase" except turned long grain. Once again I was trying to capture the crotch feather in a bifurcation. 12 x 4" Finished with linseed oil and bees wax.

    Bifurcated Hickory Vase

Once again I was trying to capture the crotch feather in a bifurcation. By the time I got this one round the feather was gone but the resulting void was pretty cool so I pressed on. I love the distortion so far. Curious how much more twisting it will do. Just a couple weeks drying. 13 x 6"...
  3. FOG Wood Bowl

    FOG Wood Bowl

Walnut oiled finish. I think that the wood might be hickory. I donated it to local Tarrant Area Food Bank for their Empty Bowls event in 2012.

Can't help but like hickory for the way the bark hangs in there, but it could make you a might obsessive about sharpening.
