River Birch burl with a shellac finish. Made for a friend's 1-year-old daughter at her themed "Fairy First Birthday" party. Wings were carved, but the main body, hat, stem, and base were all turned and assembled.
White Oak from the center of a bifurcation. Looking to capture differences and transitions between growth rings and crotch figure. I think I like these and will turn more from the same log soon. 9 x 6" finished with linseed oil and bees wax.

I sealed about 40 ambrosia holes in this bowl
